A literary miscellany

First off we have  Hesse’s magnificent exploration of mid-life crisis, Illustrations by Ignacio Serrano (2005)  


The King In Yellow is considered a seminal work in the Lovecraftian pantheon. Of these stories, the first one is a masterpiece. The next few are good, the next several are good, and then… Well.  I recommend Ted Gioia’s wry criticism.
